COMPASSION MINISTRY
At the heart of every Catholic Church, there exists a profound sense of compassion and empathy, especially evident during the painful moments of loss and grieving. Led by a group of compassionate Epiphany volunteers, the ministry's primary mission is to provide solace, support, and understanding to families and friends who have lost a loved one. Guided by the teachings of Christ, these dedicated individuals strive to bring light to the darkest moments and bring comfort to heavy hearts.
The Compassion Ministry works closely with families, assisting them in both the practical and spiritual aspects of arranging a funeral. From the moment a family comes through the church doors seeking solace, the ministry members are there, ready to listen, console, and guide. . Funeral arrangements can be overwhelming for grieving families, especially when compounded by the pain and sorrow they are experiencing. Therefore, the dedicated ministry members lend their knowledge and expertise to help organize every detail, ensuring that the funeral ceremony truly reflects the life and spirit of the deceased.
Additionally, the Compassion Ministry for Funerals extends its support long after the funeral service ends. Recognizing that grief is a journey that takes time, ministry members remain present for families as they navigate the complex emotional terrain of bereavement. Through ongoing communication, support groups, and counseling services, the ministry ensures that no one feels alone or forgotten.
Every year in November, Epiphany’s Compassion ministry hosts a memorial Mass, where families can gather to give thanks to God and celebrate the lives of those who have passed. These services serve as a reminder that the departed live on in the memories and hearts of those they left behind.
