FAITH FORMATION FOR ALL

Faith must be nurtured by us. It is no magic power which comes down from heaven, it is not a 'talent' which is given once and for all.

Pope Francis

As the term "disciple" implies, we are called to be learners, continuously seeking to deepen our understanding of our faith. Our commitment to lifelong learning from the Teacher, Jesus, is what sets us apart and strengthens our spiritual growth. While faith formation for children is undoubtedly vital, we recognize that adults often face unique challenges and responsibilities. It is in this stage of life that we must take ownership of our faith and actively engage with theological and spiritual education. Unfortunately, many Catholics today have not had the opportunity or inclination to advance their knowledge and understanding of the faith since their confirmation.

At Church of the Epiphany, we are dedicated to addressing this need and providing opportunities for adult faith formation. We offer a range of programs, classes, and resources that cater specifically to the needs and interests of our adult community. We offer a regular schedule of presentations and workshops, covering a wide range of theological and spiritual subjects, such as scripture study, prayer and contemplation, Catholic social teachings, papal encyclicals, care for creation, moral theology, and the history of the Church. We invite esteemed theologians, scholars, and spiritual leaders to facilitate these sessions, ensuring a rich and thought-provoking learning experience.

We encourage participation in small faith-sharing groups, where individuals can engage in meaningful discussions and grow in their faith together. Faith formation is a key ingredient of all our ministry groups meetings. These groups create a supportive environment where questions can be asked, doubts can be explored, and insights can be shared. Our Connect ministry is our most successful program in discipleship. After our participants have engaged in our Alpha evangelization program they attend Connect weekly to discuss and explore aspects of Christian teachings. In this community of learners, we foster a sense of belonging and mutual encouragement. And of course we seek to grow in understanding and in our relationship with God.

In addition to these structured programs, we provide a variety of resources for personal study and growth. Our spiritual library is stocked with an extensive collection of books on spirituality, theology, and Church history. We also regularly host book clubs and reading groups, encouraging in-depth conversations around faith-related literature.
