LITURGICAL COMMITTEE
Epiphany’s Liturgical Committee is responsible for overseeing and organizing the liturgical celebrations and rituals, ensuring that our parishioners experience a profound encounter with God through worship. It is composed of members of each of the church’s liturgical ministries: Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Altar Servers, Hospitality Ministers, Art and Environment Ministers, and Clergy Members.
One of the primary responsibilities of the Liturgical Committee is to plan and prepare liturgical celebrations, including the Mass, sacraments, and various prayer services. This involves collaborating with the clergy, musicians, and other volunteers to create a meaningful and reverent experience for the congregation. The committee carefully selects appropriate scripture readings, hymns, and prayers that align with the liturgical season or feast being celebrated, helping to foster a deeper understanding of the mysteries of faith. The committee works diligently to ensure that all liturgical elements are performed with reverence and adherence to the Church's guidelines. They pay careful attention to the liturgical vestments, sacred vessels, and the overall decor of the church, aiming to create an atmosphere that is conducive to prayer and worship.
The Liturgical Committee also plans and organizes workshops, retreats, and study groups to deepen the understanding of the liturgy's significance and the correct implementation of rituals. It is responsible for evaluating and implementing any liturgical changes or updates specified by the Vatican or the diocesan bishop. Guided by the missionary emphasis of Divine Renovation, the committee encourages the involvement of parishioners in various liturgical ministries such as altar servers, lectors, hospitality ministers, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, and more. By nurturing and supporting these ministries, the committee enables parishioners to actively participate in the liturgical life of the Church and develop a deeper connection with God.
