YOUTH LECTORS
At Epiphany, we believe that membership in a missionary church should come with an assumption that everyone has a role to play in our worship, service, and fellowship activities. That includes our youth, in whom we wish to presently invest for future leadership of the Church. That’s why we offer the opportunity for them to become Youth Lectors at our Masses, with a particular role in our 11am Sunday Family Mass. It can truly be inspiring to hear their voices, though youthful, carrying the weight of centuries-old verses, delivering messages of faith and wisdom to the gathered faithful. With poise and sincerity, these young lectors stand before the congregation, offering passages that have inspired and guided generations.
By giving them such an important responsibility in the church, it also gives them, of course, the opportunity to grow into their adulthood. Our Lector Ministry leadership works with these wonderful young people to help them proclaim the Word of God, teaching them poise, elocution, and the spiritual, cultural and historical meaning of the Word assigned to them.
