LEAD is an 8th Grade leadership program specifically focused on preparing students for High School, and for leadership in High School and beyond.

This program consists of in-class sessions and off-site activities, exploring serious life questions, identifying skills that they will need to help fix our broken world, and preparing them to become peer leaders within High School. Using real world experiences, we will be taking a deeper look at who they are called to be, and how they can start on the path to fulfill their calling as leaders.

The LEAD program aims to help develop key competencies, such as self-awareness, healthy self-image, relationship building, empathy, identifying unique strengths, critical thinking, integrity, decision making, listening and communication skills.

The program will be using a variety of arts and media to explore faith and leadership qualities. Students will also be producing short films, which will deliver special messages to anyone and everyone. We will invite the students to showcase their short film to our Epiphany community at the conclusion of the program.

As part of the LEAD program, students will spend a day in Washington D.C, visit the Hayden Planetarium, participate in a group service activity, visit an outdoor adventure course, and many more activities.

We are limiting this leadership program to 12 Eighth Grade students. The LEAD program fee is $500, with scholarships available for those who require financial assistance. This fee will include entry into the museums and attractions that form part of this LEAD program.

The course leaders for this LEAD program are Fr. Jim Mayzik, S.J and Debbie Keogh, Director of Faith Formation.  Classes will start on Sunday September 27 and will meet every Sunday, although some off-site activities will take place on Saturdays.

Graduates of the LEAD program will be invited to participate in a service trip or youth retreat, either domestic or international. Additional costs will apply.
