Small Group Coordinator

We are seeking someone to fill the new position of small group coordinator at Epiphany.

Background: Two areas in which Epiphany seeks to deepen our community are fellowship—the experience of meaningful community where people are known and loved—and discipleship—a person’s growth as a disciple of Jesus. The creation and maintenance of small groups of parishioners (12 people or less) is a way to provide a structure in which fellowship can thrive, and pathways are devised to lead participants into a deeper relationship with Jesus. It’s a place where fellowship and discipleship are happening.

The role: Epiphany is seeking an energetic and well-organized individual to oversee the formation of small groups in the parish. This person should be active in his or her faith and have an enthusiasm for the Divine Renovation efforts of Epiphany. The primary role of this position is facilitation: to connect parishioners with a small group that is appropriate for them, and to ensure small group hosts have a support system as they lead the groups.

Responsibilities will include:

  • In conjunction with the Director of Faith Formation and the Director of Communications, plan a small groups program, and lead a team of small group ‘hosts’ to foster deep relational connections and spiritual growth for members of Epiphany Church

  • Identify and facilitate the recruitment of Small Group Hosts

  • Empower the hosts to take on their new responsibilities by providing support and training

  • Plan and implement small group connection events (e.g., arrange quarterly meetings for a cluster of 3 or 4 ‘connect’ groups to gather and share experiences – this will facilitate merging groups in the future as individual ‘connect’ groups shrink)

  • Responsible for providing ongoing communication with the church body regarding the importance, benefits, and availability of small groups

  • Actively participate in the planning of small group activities and content.

  • Maintain records of all groups (to include but not limited to the names of the host, the participants, start date, etc)

  • Meet regularly with hosts and monitor hosts’ delivery of Program objectives.

Your skills should include:

  • Experience will small group formation and leadership

  • A passion for creating and nurturing the small group program

  • Eagerness to learn more about and participate in Divine Renovation at Epiphany

  • Excellent organization

  • Comfort working within a growing and changing team environment

Applicants for this position are not required to be a parishioner of Epiphany, but we will expect this person to maintain a high level of engagement with the people of the parish.

This is a part-time position (10 hours per week), paid hourly. To apply, please email Kevin Jackson (Director of Communications) at kdjackson15@gmail.com and express something about why you are interested in the position.
