LEGION of

MARY

At The Church of the Epiphany, the Legion of Mary meets every Wednesday at 10:30am in the Parish Rectory.  Its members bring communion to the sick of the parish, and participate in events to evangelize our brothers and sisters in Gramercy Park.

The Legion of Mary  is an international association of members of the Roman Catholic Church who serve it on a voluntary basis.  It was founded in Dublin, Ireland, as a Roman Catholic Marian Movement by the layman and civil servant Frank Duff.

Today, active and auxiliary (praying) members make up a total of over 10 million members worldwide, making it the largest apostolic organization of lay people in the Catholic Church

Membership is open to those who belong to the Catholic Church and believe in its teaching. The members of the Legion pray regularly together and are engaged primarily in the performance of spiritual works of mercy, such as distributing the Eucharist to the homebound and ill.

The essential aim of the Legion of Mary is the sanctification of its members through prayer, the sacraments and devotion to Mary and the Trinity, and of the whole world through the apostolate of the legion.
